Hi I’m not currently diagnosed but I’ve had around 10 very intense but fairly short (5-10 mins) palpitation attacks over past 13 years. Because they are rare and short-lived they have never been caught on ECG or holter. The problem is they are very intense in terms of the pounding feeling and tend to trigger intense anxiety for me.
The attacks often start with a very odd feeling in my body just before and then my heart ramps up to 120bpm with intense strong heartbeat. Then it gradually ramps down and settles. Often I have reflux or burping gas at the same time so I don’t know whether I have gastro-cardiac thing, panic attacks or SVTs so not sure what to do? Doctors say going to be hard to diagnose unless an attack lasts longer or more often I also have pretty bad ME and POTS so wondering if it’s worth doing the stuff here anyway to try and rebuild my health.
Hi Jon, You sound like you have all the USUAL SVT, POTS, GASTRO issues which all are inter-related. Since you have acid reflux, I would say its very important to look at your diet and try to get that settled…I recommend a Whole Foods plant based diet and moving away from a Standard American Diet. Check out The SVT Prevention Diet guide and also read through all my blog articles. Try to increase water, magnesium, lots of nurturing gentle foods like brown rice, sweet potatoes and veggies and lots of smoothies, banana, blueberries, etc…Let me know how you are doing….
