  • From Veronica L on My SVT Prevention Daily Smoothie

I would love to try the smoothie but that’s too many carbs for me to have in one meal, is there an alternative?

    2019/08/09 at 11:53 pm
    • From laura on My SVT Prevention Daily Smoothie

Hi Veronica! If you want to reduce carbs (Im assuming you mean carbs from the banana and fruit?) then just reduce banana to 1/4 or small 1/2 and add just a 1/4 blueberries. Then add in extra greens like a mixture of romaine, spinach, kale etc. You can also add in Chia, flax, and hemp seeds. Use water instead of nut milk. Reduce honey to one tiny drizzle for mineral content. There are so many options just think about making it more about protein and greens and less about the fruit!

Laura I have been searching for answers to a holistic approach to SVT for almost thirty years and the information you offer is unbelievable and covers every aspect of causes and dietary approach along with supplements and recipe’s! You are “Light Years”ahead of everything I have been able to get my hands on and your compassion and concern is woven into everything you do! God Bless You for all of the work that you are doing to help us! You will never know how much all of the hours you must spend mean to the people that are fortunate enough to receive your valuable information! A couple of months ago I ran across an article on a study using Etripamil nasal calcium channel blocker nose spray for stopping SVT attacks in minutes instead of Adenosine in the ER rooms it is something that you can use at home if it is approved after the study! I have reservations regarding this but it is good to know that try are seeking other options let us know what you may learn regarding this!

Hi Laura, I appreciate your gained knowledge on SVT’s and your willingness to educate us on how to treat! As well as SVT’s I’m battling cancer now so my diet is very strict and lines up very much with your lifestyle changes. One particular cause of my SVT’s is asthma and seems to me to be the primary cause. I use lots of magnesium and it helps. I do take a low dose beta blocker that has made a difference. I do not like taking prescribed drugs but this one works well for me. Thanks again–

HI Don! Thank you so much for commenting and sharing that my info has helped you! Im so sorry to hear that you have cancer! Soo many people are impacted by cancer. My father had kidney cancer and my brother had brain cancer. There is so much impacting our propensity to develop it, so many environmental toxins and pollution and pesticides etc. Definitely check out Kris Carr. I love her, she has been living with cancer for over 15 years and is a wealth of knowledge on the subject. I know she follows a vegan diet and is an advocate of no dairy and no sugar. Sugar supposedly “feeds” cancer cells. I believe that our Diet, Thoughts, lifestyle, energy etc are all impacting our health. Since you are already using diet to help yourself and supplements, have you considered making a health vision board? Depending on if you are able you can make one on pinterest or a n actual one that you make and then can hang up and can look at. I hope you can overcome this health challenge and rebuild your health and be better than ever. Wishing you lots of love and healing and feel free to reach out to me anytime! I’ll answer any questions I can! xo Laura

  • From Giovanna Guarino on Heal SVT Naturally: What if there were a different path to healing your SVT and improving your whole health?

Began following the Heal SVT naturally about a month ago. i have had periodic spurts of SVT over the last twenty years.sometimes no SVT for eight years.. last two years it returned due to hormonal imbalances due to menopause.. it was frightening and debilitated me as in confidence to even leave my home at times, not knowing when an episode would arrive. since following the book.. i have cut out Gluten… drink more coconut water… i have stimulated my vagus nerve.. started probiotics.. as well as eating my normal fresh food daily. my SVt’s which resulted in hospital have now become more of pre SVT or so minimise that i only become dizzy. but not going into full SVT.. i feel that i am healing.. slowly, as i still have the menopause to deal with but general. much better and having increased my magnesium intake much less anxiety. I am so thankful and grateful that i read the book. i would like to see it promoted throughout the hospitals and doctors in the UK. SVT can be very debilitating, but its not being looked at properly by the doctors.. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. 🙂 Gianna

    • From laura on Heal SVT Naturally: What if there were a different path to healing your SVT and improving your whole health?

Dear Giovanna, Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. I cannot tell you how much it means to mean to hear that my guides are helping people! I would love to be able to promote these one day to traditional cardiology departments and hospitals as supplemental options to help people with SVT. I understand the challenges of SVT and periomenopause since I too am going through this. I will add a few blog posts soon on the topic. I can tell you that keeping your diet and liver as clean as possible will help since our liver helps to get rid of extra estrogen. We live in an estrogen environment which makes estrogen dominance a major thing that us women have to deal with. Choose organic, hormone free meat, organic dairy to help with this..I am opting to completely reduce and eliminate dairy and meat for a while.I will continue to discuss this hot topic! Thank for following along! Sending you a big hug! xo Laura

  • From Lynn on SVT Food Tracking

I have discovered my magnesium levels are “key” to staying SVT free. After 2 years of twice monthly SVT’s. I did remove my emotional stressors, am careful not have to much gluten in my diet, eat only organic meat and non-GMO foods. Sleep 7-8 hrs a night. But even when I miss on all those counts, I feel like for me, it goes back to the magnesium supplements. For the past 3 years I have had one very short SVT episode every 6-8 months and ultimately connected to stress. Magnesium plays a key role in regulating the body’s stress-response system

      • From laura on SVT Food Tracking

Hi Theresa! Thank you for your comment. So, for starters, I have never been on medication or had ablation. All of my work is based on that I chose a different route to deal with my SVT. My story and treatment choices are listed on my about me page and I recently did a video about this on my youtube channel if you want to check it out. My choice to NOT go on medication or have ablation weren’t the right choices for me, but I fully understand that everyone makes the choices that best serve themselves and their needs. Either way, changing diet and using integrative healing methods like stress reduction and lifestyle modifications can help people as a supplemental strategy even in you are on medication or have chosen ablation. Regarding what to eat, and how I know about dietary modifications to recommend…I studied at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and am an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. I also have studied food as medicine my whole life and used food as a major tool in ridding myself of my own SVT. I hope this answers your questions;) Wishing you all the best, Laura

  • From Jeane on Lab Testing to Help Discover the SVT-GUT Connection

I recently took the 23 and me testing and found the only genetic marker for any disease they test for that I carry is one for celiac disease. I’ve had SVT for many years and have purchased your guides and found them very helpful. I rarely experience symptoms and I carry medication in my purse if needed but had noticed my episodes were linked to food choices or excessive stress so I was quite intrigued to see that genetic marker on my 23 and me test.

  • From Samantha White on Food Sensitivity Testing for SVT

Good information but I’m pretty tired of being told about all the tests I simply must have to help manage my SVT episodes. If I could afford all the testing, I would certainly do it. There’s never any mention of how expensive all this testing is or any seeming awareness of how a regular person, working paycheck to paycheck is supposed to pay for it all.

    2019/01/31 at 6:40 pm
    • From laura on Food Sensitivity Testing for SVT

Hi Samantha! Glad you found the information helpful! Thank you for your comment. First let me just say that I hear your frustration. It’s very unfortunate that many of the alternative testing that really can help people to heal at root cause levels such as identifying undiagnosed food sensitivities, genetic testing for gluten intolerance unfortunately are not covered by insurance. Further, most traditional western doctors are not prescribing these types of tests that are actually useful and directive. Im a great example of that. All of the tests I got for years were 100% normal yet I was so sick with SVT and POTS I could barely function. My entire Neal SVT Naturally approach is based on that traditional Western Cardiology did not direct me at all to any of the things that made the real changes in my life, which is why I am providing this information for others in case they are interested. I am not associated with these labs or avenues of testing, just providing the information as what worked for me.

Additionally, none of the healing practitioners that I worked with like Health Coaches, Energy healers, acupuncturists, etc. accepted insurance because again that’s just how our medical system in the United States works. So yes you do have to pay for most alternative healing protocols out of pocket however, that being said you don’t have to do any of these tests if you don’t want to. And if you dont want to pay for any tests, then you can just make assumptions according to popular allergens, or food tracking, based on your own findsing. You just wont be getting personalized information but nonetheless you can just remove gluten, sugar and dairy to see if that makes the difference for you. So for example if you are strict gluten and sugar free and still having episodes, you would need to take your gut healing protocol to a deeper level, and that would be difficult without personalized testing and direction.

For me, I was not really initially that committed to my gluten-free diet and I was still having (SVT) and when I did finally decide to bite the bullet and pay for the test and I found out in black-and-white evidence that I was gluten intolerant and it really really really helped me to finally commit to the dietary changes that change my life, and rid me of SVT and many other SVT co-symptoms.

Good Luck and let me know if you have any other questions. Also stay tuned for the next blog post with more info on the labs, and other info.

HI Peter, I can email you the PDF of the guide. I use paypal to process the payments and accept all major credit cads or paypal. In the meantime, start tracking your food and your episodes to try to draw common denominators. They are usually caffenine, white sugar, gluten, carb heavy meals, overeating in one sitting, eating late, eating sugar for breakfast. Try to eat more fruits and veggies and naturally gluten free whole grains like qunioa or brown rice pasta. The SVT Prevention Diet eguide will help you alot. All the best, Laura

    • From laura on New Research that Connects POTS to Gluten Consumption Has Implications for SVT

HI Natalie, This is such a great question. First, if you love gluten and never can seem to get enough, that is a sign that you may be experiencing a food sensitivity to it. My whole theory is built around undiagnosed food allergies and their impact on your propensity for SVT. We crave endlessly things we are actually sensitive or allergic to like…gluten sugar and dairy. One way to approach things is to use a method that I explain in detail in my new e-book The SVT Prevention Diet: The SVT-GUT Connection and the Power of Food to Control SVT and Transform Your Health, called crowding it out. The first thing to do is allow yourself to have any carbs you want as long as they are naturally gluten free and filled with vitamins. Such as, brown rice organic pasta, quinoa, organic brown rice, millet, etc. In baked goods you can have almond flour, brown rice flour, GF flour, GF rolled Oats, etc. For carb like veggies try sweet ones like yams, sweet potatoes, squash, and even bean pastas like chick pea pastas and beans in general are OK too. Then flavor those things with the same flavors you love on your regular carbs. Also swap out the white sugar slowly with dark cacao chocholate like HU Brand with almond butter, and honey is OK too. REally investigate your diet and go slow. I highly recommend my guide, I was a carb lover, lived on pasta and cookies and also was an emotional eater;) Let me know how it goes. Laura

Will this diet work for a-fib ?

    2018/11/09 at 3:02 pm
    • From laura on The SVT Prevention Diet E-book

Barb, that is a great question. I believe it will. The guide is written to help people learn not just about the exact diet to follow but to really get a deep look into the power of food and the food connection to inflammation and the impact of that. I discuss diet, self-care, vagal toning, the benefits of certain foods, why we are all so mineral depleted, food sensitivities and so much more. I think its a wealth of knowledge A-fib is in the a similar category and as I have a family member who is in constant a-fib, I am familiar with her situation and I know that if she did the diet she would improve. I promise you will find so much useful info in the guide, I know it will be a great tool for you and anyone who is suffering with SVT and related conditions! You have nothing to loose and everything to gain! xo Let me know!! xo

I am planning to travel to Japan and I am down now knowing their health system are a bit tricky. Plus it’s upsetting when SVT is not covered via travel insurance! I have been to several countries and in flight for at most 18hrs and gladly no episodes. But to know I am not alone and we are really the same in handling it really makes me feel glad and thanks to the writer to let us have this platform. Take care and don’t forget your blocker.
