One of the first Gluten Free recipes I ever made for a Holiday was this Gluten-Free Cranberry-Apple Crumble for a Thanksgiving dessert.
Keeping things simple, healthy and delicious are my criteria in the kitchen. This dessert met those needs and was sweet, warm and delightful.
You will need…
- 4 Apples diced up. I used an array of varieties like jonagold, honeycrisp, or whatever was in season at my hubby’s farmers market.
- 1 cup fresh cranberries
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1/2 cups brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 cup freshly juiced orange juice
- 1 12 oz Bag of GF granola (There are so many lovely naturally GF granola’s on the market now…choose whatever one you like!)
Dice up the apples into small bite size pieces and place in a glass or ceramic baking dish. Mix in the cranberries and raisins. Add the sugar, cinnamon, and the juiced oranges…stir….Then, layer on top 1 bag of the Gluten Free Granola…Bake at 380 degrees for aprox.30-40 minutes.
I loved the tart berries mixed with the sweet orange flavor and the warm combo of the soft yet slightly crunchy granola.
I thoroughly enjoyed the leftovers for 2 days and will definitely be making this dish again…and again…
